We were all treated to a magnificent demonstration from professional wood turner Andy James. Andy specialises in small segmented hollow forms turned from exotic woods and acrylics.
The blank from which Andy made an exquisite little hollow form had been assembled already, it was primarily maple interlaced with other exotic woods
The sleigh Andy uses is similar to the one I made, his is made from clear Perspex with T channel adjusters, (i might have to made a new one).
He designs his pieces on graph paper where every square represents 5 mm. I might try this as an easy free hand way to make the form the transfer it to Fusion.
His skill with the turning tools was excellent, very impressed. Worth seeing him in action and he is a real nice fella too.
