Fenland Wood Turners in Spalding hosted the excellent Robert Till from Stafford.
Robert produced a coloured flying saucer shaped bowl. His turning was very accurate and precise. I was very impressed how he could get such a great finish straight from the spindle gouge by adjusting the tool rest height and trying various cuts. His explanation of how cutting from the centre of the bowl out worked much better at cutting the grain.

The piece Robert created was not something I would make, I thought a bit too heavy but the finish was lovely, and the way he painted the piece was really good.
